Jason was cruising on Facebook and found an inexpensive stay at Kalahari Resort in the Wisconsin Dells ("Waterpark capital of the world" for all of you who don't know!) being advertised. He snatched it up, and we had a blast! We stayed in a room with two separate bedrooms, one with a king-size bed, two bathrooms, kitchenette, and dining table. So nice! The stay also included our waterpark tickets, which is normal, but they also threw in tickets to the new indoor theme park! What a blast! We didn't take our camera into the waterpark, but really did have fun swimming. Chelsey was such a little ball of energy, not afraid of anything, and was always up to going on big slides with Mom or Dad. Emily was a little hesitant....well, actually, just downright afraid, the first day. By the second day she was having so much fun, too, and was willing to go on the family raft slides that were a little slower and not so splashy. Ryan loved crawling through the water, but had zero sense (I know, he's a baby!) and kept crawling into water too deep with his face down in it. So sad, but kind of funny, too! And, yes, Jason body-surfed! He waited in the line, got the instructions, and even managed two barrel rolls before being washed up and over the rim. The second day was for catching up on sleep and spending the morning in the theme park. Afterwards, we went swimming for a few more hours, and headed home to face the all-too-real fact that we are moving soon and need to get cracking on the packing!
Chelsey and Emily so excited to go mini-golfing
We discovered that Ryan is deathly afraid of merry-go-rounds, so Jason had to take him on the bench. What a funny kid!
This is me doing the ropes course - something you definitely never expected to see, I bet! The look on my face is, "Holy cow, what have I done, I can't do this, HOW do I do this, someone help me!" This was right before the boy (like 14, I'm not kidding) sees my panic, hops up there and talks me through how to do it. I felt old. Really old. But I felt better when he told me that this section was the hardest in the course, and most people skip it. Most people with sense skip it!
