Getting ready for Christmas...

Well, now that Thanksgiving is "out of the way," Chelsey and Emily couldn't wait to decorate our house for Christmas. Chelsey has become quite the decorator ever since Halloween and thinks that our house should always be festive. Hopefully, there will always be a holiday coming up that we have decorations for or she's going to be very disappointed... :)

So, after I got off work, I made the trek down into our spider-infested basement and lugged the 10 boxes of Christmas decorations we have up the stairs to our apartment and we spent the rest of the afternoon and evening emptying about two of them before our apartment was already over-decorated... Maybe one day we'll have a house big enough for all the fun Christmas decorations we've acquired. ha ha.

Anyway, we at least got our tree and our Nativity set up. We put up a few other things too, but we figure those are the most important. We were feeling pretty good about ourselves at first, but as we put the girls to bed and Chelsey asked for the fifth time if Santa was coming tomorrow, we fear we may have jumped the gun a little. Hopefully when December comes and we can start using the advent calendar, she will understand how much longer we still have to wait until he can come. Between now and then we decided that all of our December Family Home Evening lessons might have to be on the true Christmas story so that we can keep that in mind. I don't think you have to be a 4-year-old to forget what Christmas is really about.

Anyway, enough rambling... I know that you all only really care about the pictures anyway. :) Hope you're all doing well and looking forward to a fun Christmas season.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Hi everybody. We haven't posted for a while, but wanted to tell everyone Happy Thanksgiving!!! We hope all of you had as good a Thanksgiving as we did. We definitely missed our families, but we had a lot of fun (and a lot of good food). Paul and Kim Morrison called us and asked us if we would like to have dinner with them. It was fun to see them again after they'd been gone for a couple of months and get reacquainted. It was also nice to only have to make half of the meal. :) Here are a few pictures of the big day:

Pie!!!

We couldn't narrow down what kind of pie we wanted, so we just made them all (with help from the Morrisons)

Clockwise from bottom left: apple, cherry, pumpkin, chocolate, lemon, banana... YUM!

Emily prefers her cherry pie a la mode and without wasting time on utensils...

...and Chelsey likes a good chocolate pie that also apparently serves as lip gloss.
