Denise, this is for you. Yesterday Chelsey was dressing up as Sleeping Beauty (again) and wanted her pink necklace on. I was trying and trying to fasten that silly little bead slide (you know what I'm talking about!) when Chelsey sighed, "Oh, I wish Grandma were here. She puts necklaces on better than you. You're just not as smart as Grandma." *sigh, walks away with dejected look on her face*
Sigh myself. Oh, how we love Grandmas coming to the rescue!

Hey, Did You Know...
...that "pajamas" is the opposite of "underwear?" Yeah, me, either! I wasn't really listening to the girls the other day as I was making lunch until I heard Chelsey: "Em, you're wearing pajamas and I'm wearing underwear...that's okay 'cause pajamas are opposite of underwear!" A little confused and more than a tiny bit interested, I started listening more: "And d'ya know what the opposite of milk is?" (Unintelligible from Em - something about Super Emily saving the day.) So I said to Chels, "Water?" (Good guess, but NO.) "Nope! Juice!" "Oh," I said. "So, what is the opposite of water?" *slightly stumped look on Chelsey's face* *face brightened* "Hot cocoa!" Well, proof that her imagination is working, anyway!
p.s. Emily was still in pajamas at lunch because often we never make it out of our 'jams. Chelsey was in her underwear because she had been dressed up as Sleeping Beauty and I asked her to get some clothes on so she could eat lunch. She stripped down and sat at the table and proceeded to have the above-mentioned conversation. Then I told her (AGAIN) to get some clothes on and she just looked at me and said, "Don't worry, Mom, it's going to be okay," with all of the wisdom of a forty-year-old in a four-year-old's body. Laughing, I decided that we were definitely going to have to work on that modesty issue...
