Ryan's First Ice Cream Cone

So this week, the Girl Scout Cookie Special Edition Ice Cream came out and how could we resist buying a carton of Samoa?  We had to share the wealth with the kids and decided Ryan had been good and deserved some too.  Needless to say, he loved it (almost as much as we did) and the carton ended up empty in the garbage instead of the freezer.

Chelsey's Dance Recital 2009

Chelsey had another dance recital this year with the group of girls who takes lessons from one of the women in our ward.  It was a really great recital and they all had fun and did a good job.  Chelsey got to do three dances with her group:

Tap

Ballet

Hip Hop

The final bow (how dramatic!)

Travel Bear

Chelsey's junior kindergarten class has a fun tradition called "travel bear."  It is this little teddy bear that goes home with one kid per week and they write in an accompanying journal about all the places they take him.  To a future pediatrician, this just seems like a disgusting germ carrier, but to a five-year-old, it's the greatest thing ever.

Chelsey's School Concert

Chelsey's elementary school had a big concert on Thursday night where each of the grades sang a song.  She had a lot of fun singing with her junior kindergarten class about different animals coming to school and learning the ABCs.

The words went something like this:
"There's a dog in our school.  Oh no!
What are we going to do?
Well, as long as there's a dog in school,
He'll have to learn his alphabet too!
Ruff, ruff, ruff, ruff, ruff, ruff... (to the tune of the alphabet song)"

Repeated over and over with different animals (cow, horse, duck, etc.)
Here are a couple pictures:

Chelsey with her class

Singing "Neigh, neigh, neigh, neigh...."

The last verse was duck and every time the guy yelled "duck," all the kids ducked.

Finishing off the duck verse with "Quack, quack, quack, quack..."

I bet you're sad you missed this one!
