...can seem so hard to come by these days. It seems like even when I do get a day off, we have so many things planned that it doesn't feel like one. Today, we didn't have anything to do, so after lunch, we just went on a walk together and found fun places to take pictures. Here are a couple of the better ones:

A Very Warm Little Guy
Ryan is such a blessed little guy who has so many people who love him. I mentioned once when I was pregnant with him that I was going to have to find some boy blankets because I only had girly ones, and this was the result:

18 blankets! I had a lot of fun stacking all of them up, and Ryan had a lot of fun relaxing on the blankets. The blue quilt on top was the one I made for Ryan between Christmas and his birth and which Jason bought the kit for me for Christmas. The other quilts represent a lot of hand-made (and hand-bought) love from grandmas and great-grandmas and aunts and great-aunts. Thank you to everyone for all of the blankets and quilts, and lest you think we don't need all of them, just know that Ryan goes through almost all of them every week!
Every single blanket here was given to Ryan to show how much he is loved and I hope he always knows it!

Happy Father's Day, Jason!
We have the best daddy in the whole world....no, make that the whole galaxy, and we have the candy-bar poster to prove it! Our day started early when we just couldn't wait to get out of bed and wish Daddy a Happy Father's Day at around 6:00 am. We helped Mommy make him a great breakfast of biscuits with sausage gravy and scrambled eggs - YUMMY! We had to go to church early today so Mommy and Daddy could sing with the choir, but after church we continued our fun party! We had a delicious turkey dinner, and we couldn't even do the dishes because we were so excited to go on our TREASURE HUNT! We waited with Daddy while Mommy hid the clues, and then we followed the clues to the candy. Daddy opened his presents and told us how much fun he had. We just wanted to tell you HAPPY FATHER'S DAY, DADDY!

Shout-Out to My Dad
Happy Father's Day, Dad! I just wanted to tell you thanks for everything! To name a few:
1) When you stitched my eyelid when my brothers and I were playing too rough.
2) For all the papers you proofed for me (doctor by day, English professor by night).
3) For driving the little red car all the way to Wisconsin by yourself, and especially for letting us keep it.
4) For taking me to your office in the middle of the night for a breathing treatment when I felt like I couldn't breathe from the allergic reactions.
5) For filling in on the organ for me when I woke up with pink eye and COULDN'T SEE A THING!
6) For taking us to Disneyland several times.
7) For making us learn yardwork, gardening, and washing dishes in boiling water!
8) For giving me Priesthood blessings when I felt scared, like before all of my many recitals.
9) For being a great example to me, my husband, and my children.
10) For all of the great camping trips - three words: LAND OF GOSHEN! (or Atlantic Ocean, if you are Lindsay or me!).
11) For loving Mom so much and showing all of us a good example of a wonderful husband and father.
Ha, ha....yeah, a few - I could go on and on! Anyway, I love you and hope you had a great Father's Day!
Rocking out.....I mean, playing Christmas carols on the accordian
